Have you ever had the apps on your iPhone screen slide down for seemingly no reason? This is a feature on the device that is meant to make it easier to use with one hand.
However, this “Reachability” feature might not be something that you are interested in using. It occurs when you quickly double-tap the Home screen, which causes the uppermost apps on the screen to lower to a screen position where, theoretically, they are reachable if you are holding the iPhone with one hand. Our tutorial below will show you how to turn this off on your iPhone.
How to Disable Reachability on an iPhone 7 Plus
The steps in this article were performed on an iPhone 7 Plus in iOS 12.1. Note that some older versions and iPhone models do not have this feature.
Step 1: Open the Settings menu.
Step 2: Select the General option.
Step 3: Scroll down and choose the Accessibility option.
Step 4: Scroll down and tap the button to the right of Reachability to turn it off.
Now when you double-tap the Home button your apps should remain where they are.
Now that you know how to stop the screen from sliding down on an iPhone 7 Plus, you won’t be inconvenienced if you accidentally perform that action.
Are you running out of space on your iPhone and it’s preventing you from getting new apps or taking pictures? This article will show you how to delete an app on your iPhone and give yourself some more storage space.
