Google Chrome can be installed on Windows 11 from Google’s official download site. Windows may initially suggest Microsoft Edge, but you do not need to remove Edge in order to use Chrome.
Install Chrome on Windows 11
- Open your current web browser.
- Go to Google’s official Chrome download page.
- Download the Windows installer.
- Open the downloaded installer and approve the Windows prompt if one appears.
- Allow setup to download and install Chrome.
- Open Chrome from Start when installation finishes.
If you want Chrome to handle web links by default, Windows 11 lets you change the default browser through Settings > Apps > Default apps. The exact prompts can vary with the current Windows release.

Avoid third-party “download manager” sites that bundle browsers with unrelated software. For a work or school PC, installation or default-browser settings may be controlled by the organization.
