Windows 11 can show weather information on the taskbar through Widgets. Depending on your taskbar alignment and Windows build, you may see the current weather as an icon, temperature, or dynamic Widgets entry.
How to Show Weather on the Windows 11 Taskbar
- Right-click an empty area of the taskbar.
- Select Taskbar settings.
- Find Widgets under the taskbar items.
- Turn Widgets on.
- Return to the desktop and allow the taskbar information to refresh.
If Widgets Is On but the Temperature Is Missing
Open the Widgets board and check that its weather experience has a valid location and can access online content. Sign-in, regional settings, network access, organization policies, and changes in Microsoft’s current Widgets design can affect what appears on the taskbar.
Change the Weather Location
Open the weather card or widget and use its available location settings. The exact controls can change as Microsoft updates the Widgets experience, so use the location or personalization controls presented in your current version.
Can You Show Only the Temperature?
Windows does not provide unlimited control over the built-in taskbar weather layout. If you only want a fixed temperature readout with no Widgets experience, Windows’ native options may not provide that exact layout. Be cautious with third-party taskbar-modification utilities because Windows updates can break unsupported shell customizations.
