The Settings app is the easiest way to uninstall most programs in Windows 11. Removing a program does not necessarily delete documents or other files you created with it.
Uninstall a Windows 11 program
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Select Apps, then Installed apps.
- Find the program you want to remove.
- Click its three-dot menu and choose Uninstall.
- Confirm the removal and complete any prompts from the program’s own uninstaller.
Some Windows components cannot be removed from this list. Older desktop software can also be removed through Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
If uninstalling fails
Restart Windows and try the normal uninstaller again before using cleanup tools. Do not simply delete the application’s folder. That can leave services, startup entries, registry information, and other program components behind.
