To set an alarm on a Samsung Galaxy, open the Clock app, tap the Alarm tab and tap the + button. Scroll to set the time, tap the days you want it to repeat, choose a sound and tap Save. The alarm appears in the list with its switch turned on. You can also say “Hi Bixby, set an alarm for 7 a.m.” to do it by voice.

Set a new alarm
- Open the Clock app. Swipe up on the Home screen to find it in the Apps screen if it isn’t on your Home screen.
- Tap the Alarm tab at the bottom, then tap +.
- Scroll the hours and minutes to set the time, and choose AM or PM if you use 12-hour time.
- Tap the letters for the days you want the alarm to repeat, such as M T W T F for weekdays. Leave them all off for a one-time alarm, or tap the calendar icon to pick a specific date.
- Tap Alarm name to add a label, such as “Gym” or “Take medicine”. It shows on screen when the alarm rings.
- Set the sound, vibration and snooze (below), then tap Save.
Choose the alarm sound and volume
- Alarm sound: tap it to choose a ringtone and drag the volume slider. Turn on Gradually increase volume, if available, for a gentler wake-up.
- Spotify: connect your Spotify account under Alarm sound to wake up to a song or playlist.
- Bixby briefing: on supported phones, choose the Bixby alarm option to hear the time, weather and news when the alarm goes off.
Alarm volume is separate from ringtone and media volume. To change it for all alarms, open Settings > Sounds and vibration > Volume > Alarm.
Set vibration and snooze
- Vibration: tap it to pick a pattern, or turn it off with the switch.
- Snooze: tap it to set the interval (for example 5 or 10 minutes) and how many times the alarm repeats. The default is 5 minutes, 3 times. Turn snooze off if you tend to sleep through it.
Turn off, edit or delete alarms
- Turn off an alarm without deleting it: tap its switch in the Alarm list.
- Skip the next one only: on repeating alarms, some versions let you tap Skip or turn off the next occurrence from the notification shown before the alarm.
- Edit: tap the alarm, change anything and tap Save.
- Delete: touch and hold the alarm and tap Delete. To clear them all, tap All, then Delete all.
Dismiss or snooze an alarm when it rings
When an alarm rings, swipe the X in any direction to dismiss it, or tap Snooze. If the screen is locked, you don’t need to unlock the phone. Pressing a volume key or the side key can also snooze or stop the alarm, depending on your settings.
Set alarms with your voice
Press and hold the side key (or say “Hi Bixby” if voice wake-up is on) and say something like “Set an alarm for 6:30 a.m. every weekday” or “Turn off my 7 a.m. alarm”. Google Assistant and Gemini can also set alarms in the Clock app.
Automate alarms with Modes and Routines
To turn on Do Not Disturb at bedtime and start your morning routine when the alarm is dismissed, open Settings > Modes and Routines. The built-in Sleep mode silences notifications overnight while still letting alarms ring.
Troubleshooting
The alarm didn’t make a sound
Check that the alarm volume isn’t at zero, and open Clock > the three dots > Settings to make sure Silence alarms when system sound is off is turned off. Alarms ring in Do Not Disturb unless you’ve changed its exceptions.
The alarm went off at the wrong time
Check Settings > General management > Date and time and turn on Automatic date and time and Automatic time zone. Also check the alarm’s AM/PM setting.
The Clock app is missing
Search for Clock in the Apps screen. If it was disabled, enable it in Settings > Apps; if it was removed, reinstall it from the Galaxy Store. For managing apps, see how to uninstall an app on a Samsung Galaxy.
