You can permanently remove an alarm from the iPhone’s Clock app when you no longer need it. Deleting an alarm is different from simply turning it off: an off alarm remains in your list so you can enable it again later.
Delete an iPhone alarm
- Open the Clock app.
- Tap Alarms.
- Find the alarm you want to remove.
- Swipe left on the alarm and tap Delete, or use the Edit controls provided by your iOS version.
Turn it off instead if you may need it again
Use the switch beside an alarm to disable it without deleting its time, repeat schedule, label, sound, and other settings.
Sleep schedules are managed differently
An alarm associated with a Sleep schedule can be connected to sleep settings rather than behaving exactly like a normal Clock alarm. If the alarm keeps returning or belongs to a sleep schedule, review the Sleep or Health scheduling controls.
The iOS 17 title is historical
Apple has released newer iOS versions since iOS 17, but alarm deletion remains available in the Clock app. The exact appearance of the controls can change between releases.
