You can remove Norton from Windows 11 through the normal Windows uninstall process. If the standard uninstall fails, use Norton’s official removal guidance or removal utility rather than deleting program folders manually.
Uninstall Norton in Windows 11
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps > Installed apps.
- Find the Norton product you want to remove.
- Open its menu and choose Uninstall.
- Follow Norton’s prompts and restart the computer if requested.
Read each prompt carefully. A Norton installation can include more than one component, and you may be offered choices to keep settings for a future reinstall.
If Norton will not uninstall
Use the current support instructions from Norton. The company provides tools for certain removal or reinstall situations. Download those tools only from Norton’s official site.
Check antivirus protection afterward
Windows 11 includes Microsoft Defender Antivirus. After Norton is fully removed and the computer restarts, open Windows Security and verify that virus protection is active.
Do not run several real-time antivirus products simultaneously simply to get “more protection.” Multiple security suites can conflict, slow the PC, or interfere with each other’s scanning. If Norton is managed by your employer or school, contact the administrator before removing it.
