How to Switch to Legal Page Size in Excel for Office 365

March 27, 2019 By Matt Jacobs

When you create a new spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel, that spreadsheet will use the default page size for normal documents. This is dictated by your geographic location, and will likely be either Letter or A4.

But sometimes you are going to create a spreadsheet that is quite large, and you may want to fit more rows or columns on the page. This could make you want to use a different, larger type of paper, such as legal. Our tutorial below will show you how to switch to the legal page size in Excel.

How to Use Legal Paper in Excel for Office 365

The steps in this article were performed on the Excel for Office 365 version of the application, but will also work in most other earlier versions of the program. Note that you may need to change a setting on your printer to get it to print legal paper. The method for doing this can vary across many printers, so you may need to consult the documentation for your specific printer model.

Step 1: Open your spreadsheet in Excel.

Step 2: Click the Page Layout tab at the top of the window.
