How to Keep Screen on iPhone 14: Tips and Tricks

To keep an iPhone 14 screen on longer, change Auto-Lock in Display & Brightness settings. Choosing Never prevents the normal inactivity timer from locking the screen, but it increases battery use and can leave personal information visible if you walk away.

Steps

Step 1: Open Settings

Tap Settings.

Step 2: Open Display & Brightness

Tap Display & Brightness.

Step 3: Select Auto-Lock

Tap Auto-Lock.

Step 4: Choose a longer time

Select a longer timeout, or choose Never if you intentionally want the display to remain on until you lock it manually.

Step 5: Lock the iPhone manually when finished

Press the side button when you no longer need the screen to remain awake.

What Happens Next

The iPhone waits for the selected period before locking because of inactivity. With Never selected, you become responsible for locking it manually.

Troubleshooting and Useful Details

If Auto-Lock is stuck at 30 Seconds or the choices are restricted, check whether Low Power Mode is enabled or whether a device-management policy controls the setting. Leaving a bright static screen on also consumes more battery and is unnecessary for most uses.
