How to Check the BIOS Version in Windows 10

1. Use System Information

1. Press Windows + R to open Run.
2. Type msinfo32 and select OK.
3. Select System Summary on the left, if it isn’t already selected.
4. Find BIOS Version/Date in the list.

BIOS Mode shows UEFI or Legacy. Most newer PCs use UEFI. The same page also shows System Manufacturer and System Model, which you need when you look for updates. It also lists the BaseBoard lines, so you can find your motherboard model on Windows 10 without opening another tool.

1. Open Command Prompt.
2. Type this and press Enter:

1. Right-click Start and select Windows PowerShell.
2. Type Get-CimInstance -ClassName Win32_BIOS and press Enter.
3. The SMBIOSBIOSVersion line is your BIOS version.

4. Use the DirectX Diagnostic Tool
