To install Bijoy Bayanno on Windows 10, buy a license from Ananda Computers (the company behind Bijoy), download the setup file it gives you, unzip and install it, restart, and then activate it with your license code and the 12-digit Machine ID the program shows. After activation, you can type Bangla in Bijoy’s Classic mode or in Unicode. If you don’t need Bijoy specifically, two free options work too: Avro Keyboard and the Bangla keyboards built into Windows. All three are covered below.
Applies to: Bijoy Bayanno on Windows 10 version 22H2. Ananda Computers lists Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10 (32-bit and 64-bit) on its Bijoy Bayanno introduction page. Windows 11 isn’t on that list, so ask the vendor before buying for a Windows 11 PC. Microsoft ended Windows 10 support on October 14, 2025, and Extended Security Updates for home PCs run through October 12, 2027.
Which Bangla typing option should you use?
| Bijoy Bayanno | Avro Keyboard | Windows Bangla keyboards | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cost | Paid license | Free | Free, already in Windows |
| How you type | The fixed Bijoy layout (each key is one Bangla letter) | Phonetic (type “ami” to get আমি) or several fixed layouts | Bangla and INSCRIPT layouts, plus a phonetic keyboard |
| Output | Bijoy Classic (ASCII) or Unicode | Unicode, with optional ANSI support | Unicode |
| Best for | Offices, presses and exams that expect Bijoy typing or Bijoy Classic files | Most personal use, chat, email and the web | Occasional typing with nothing to install |
If your workplace sends you files typed in Bijoy Classic, or you already know the Bijoy layout by heart, Bijoy is the practical choice. Otherwise, start with a free option.
Before you install Bijoy
- Get a genuine license. Bijoy Bayanno is commercial software. Many sites offer “free full version” downloads, activation codes or cracks. Those are unlicensed copies, and modified installers are a common way to slip in malware or keyloggers that record everything you type, including passwords. Buy from Ananda Computers or a shop that sells genuine copies.
- Install Microsoft Word first. The vendor’s software page says Windows and Microsoft Word should already be installed before you set up Bijoy.
- Remove old Bangla software and fonts. The vendor asks you to uninstall older Bangla typing programs and their fonts before installing. Use the usual way to uninstall programs on Windows 10 for any older Bijoy version.
- Use an administrator account and stay online. Activation is done over the internet, unless you contact the vendor for help.
Buy Bijoy Bayanno
- Go to Ananda Computers’ Bijoy website (bijoyekushe.net.bd), open its software page and find Bijoy Bayanno. In October 2026, it was listed at 400 taka. Prices can change, so check the page.
- Select the online purchase button under Bijoy Bayanno (it’s labeled in Bangla, “অনলাইনে কিনুন”, meaning “buy online”).

- On the order form, choose Bijoy Bayanno as the product and fill in your name, address, country, postal code, email address and phone number. Then pay.
- After payment, you can download the software and you’ll see a code number. This is your license number. Write it down or save it somewhere safe; you need it to activate, and again if you reinstall Windows.
Computer shops in Bangladesh also sell Bijoy Bayanno. If you buy from a shop, check that you receive a license code, not just a file.
Install Bijoy Bayanno
- Find the download in your Downloads folder. It arrives as a compressed (.zip) file, so right-click it and choose Extract All, then Extract. See how to unzip files in Windows 10 if you haven’t done this before.
- Open the extracted folder, right-click the setup file and choose Run as administrator. Select Yes when User Account Control asks for permission.
- Follow the setup wizard to the end. The installer also adds the Bijoy fonts it needs.
- Restart the PC when setup asks you to. Don’t skip this; the activation screen comes up after the restart.
Activate Bijoy with your Machine ID
Ananda Computers ties each license to one PC using a Machine ID. These steps follow the activation process on the vendor’s software page.
- After the restart, open Bijoy Bayanno. It shows a 12-digit Machine ID. Note it down exactly.
- Select the Get Activation Code link.

- Enter your license code and the Machine ID, then submit. You’ll receive an Activation Code.
- Type or paste the Activation Code into Bijoy’s activation box and select Activate.
If the PC has no internet connection, contact Ananda Computers on a working day by email, message or phone with your license code and Machine ID, and the company will give you the Activation Code. Contact details are at the bottom of the vendor’s software page.
Type Bangla and choose Unicode or Classic
Once Bijoy is active, you switch between English and Bangla from Bijoy’s icon near the clock on the taskbar. If you don’t see it, select the small up arrow (Show hidden icons). Ananda Computers’ web pages don’t list a keyboard shortcut for switching, so use the icon or check the guide that came with your copy.
Bijoy Bayanno writes in two encodings, according to the vendor:
- Bijoy Classic (ASCII). The older Bijoy system. Text only looks right when the reader has the same Bijoy fonts installed. Use it when an office, printer or publication asks for Bijoy Classic files.
- Unicode. The modern standard. Text typed in Unicode displays correctly on other PCs, phones, websites, email and social media without special fonts. Use it for anything you share.
Bayanno also includes a converter between Bijoy 2003 (Classic) text and Bayanno, which helps with older documents. Changing the font on Classic text doesn’t convert it to Unicode; the converter does.
To test, open Word or Notepad, switch Bijoy to Bangla and press a few keys. Bangla letters should appear.
Free option: Avro Keyboard
Avro Keyboard from OmicronLab is free Bangla typing software. Its phonetic mode lets you type Bangla by spelling words in English letters, with a dictionary and auto-correct to help. It also has fixed layouts (Probhat, Munir Optima, Avro Easy, Bornona and National), types Unicode, and can output ANSI text for older Bijoy-compatible fonts. It does not include the Bijoy layout itself.
- Download the installer from OmicronLab’s site only. In October 2026, the current version was 5.6.0, listed for Windows 10, 8.1, 8 and XP.
- Run the setup file and follow the prompts.
- Start Avro and pick your switching key. Avro lets you choose one of the F1 to F12 keys or Ctrl + Space.
Free option: Windows’ built-in Bangla keyboards
Windows 10 includes Bangla keyboards. On Windows 10 22H2:
- Open Start > Settings > Time & Language > Language.
- Under Preferred languages, select Add a language.
- Type Bangla, pick Bangla (Bangladesh) or Bangla (India), and select Next.
- On the language features page, clear Set as my Windows display language if you want to keep Windows in English, then select Install.
- To see or add layouts, select the Bangla language, select Options, then Add a keyboard under Keyboards.

- Switch keyboards with Windows logo key + Spacebar or the language button (such as ENG) on the taskbar.
Windows offers the Bangla and Bangla – INSCRIPT layouts, which differ from Bijoy’s layout. Microsoft also lists Bangla among its Indic Phonetic keyboards, which turn English spelling into Bangla much like Avro does. If a phonetic option isn’t offered under Bangla (Bangladesh), try adding Bangla (India). For more on these keyboards, see typing in Hindi and other Indian languages on Windows 10, and for general layout switching, changing the keyboard language in Windows 10.
On Windows 11, the same settings are under Settings > Time & language > Language & region, as shown in Microsoft’s keyboard and language settings guide.
If something goes wrong
Setup asks for .NET Framework 3.5
Search Start for Windows Features, open Turn Windows features on or off, check .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0), select OK and restart if asked. Microsoft explains this on its .NET Framework 3.5 page.
Bangla letters show as boxes or English gibberish
Boxes mean the font can’t show Bangla. Choose a Unicode Bangla font, such as Nirmala UI, which comes with Windows. Random English letters usually mean Bijoy Classic text in a non-Bijoy font, or the other way around. Pick the font that matches the mode you typed in, or convert the text. You can add more Bangla fonts by installing fonts in Windows 10.
Text breaks when pasted into Facebook, email or a website
It was typed in Bijoy Classic. Retype it in Unicode mode, or run it through Bayanno’s converter first.
Activation fails or the Machine ID changed
Make sure you entered the license code and Machine ID exactly, with no extra spaces. If the code is rejected after you reinstalled Windows or changed hardware, contact Ananda Computers with your license code and the Machine ID now shown.
Bijoy won’t type in some apps
Check that Bijoy is switched to Bangla in the app you’re using, and that no other Bangla tool (such as Avro) is active at the same time. Close the other tool and try again.
Check that it worked, or remove it
Bijoy is set up correctly when it opens without asking for activation and typing in Word produces Bangla letters. To remove it later, go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features, select Bijoy Bayanno and choose Uninstall. Keep your license code; you’ll need it to activate again.
Frequently asked questions
Is Bijoy Bayanno free?
No. It needs a paid license from Ananda Computers. Ananda Computers lists Bijoy for Android and Linux as free, but the Windows version of Bayanno is paid.
Can I move my license to a new PC?
Activation uses your PC’s Machine ID, so a new PC needs a new Activation Code. Ask Ananda Computers whether your license can be moved before you reinstall it elsewhere.
Does Bijoy Bayanno work on Windows 11?
The vendor’s product page lists Windows versions up to Windows 10 and doesn’t mention Windows 11. Confirm with Ananda Computers before buying for a Windows 11 PC, or use Avro or the built-in Windows keyboards.
Is there a Mac version?
Bayanno is for Windows. Ananda Computers sells a separate product, Bijoy Ekattor, with a Mac version.
Next step: once Bijoy is active, switch it to Unicode and type a short line in Word to confirm everything works before you start on a real document.
