Word can fill several pages with Avery labels by using the label layout as a mail-merge document. This is much faster than copying each address or item into individual label cells.
Create multiple pages of Avery labels
- Open Word and select Mailings > Start Mail Merge > Labels.
- Choose Avery US Letter or the appropriate Avery vendor, then select the product number printed on your label package.
- Connect your recipient list with Select Recipients.
- Insert the fields you need in the first label.
- Select Update Labels so Word copies the layout to the remaining labels.
- Use Preview Results to check the entries.
- Select Finish & Merge and create a new document or print the labels.
If you are making many identical labels rather than a list of different records, use Mailings > Labels, enter the repeated content, and choose a full page of the same label.
Print a test sheet first
Print one page on plain paper and hold it behind the label sheet to check alignment. Printer scaling should normally remain at 100 percent or actual size; “Fit to page” can shift label positions.
