You can close every open Safari tab on an iPhone 12 at once, which is much faster than tapping the close button on each tab individually.

- Open Safari.
- Touch and hold the Tabs button at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Close All Tabs. The command may include the number of currently open tabs.
- Confirm that you want to close them.
If Safari’s controls are at the top of your screen because of your tab-bar settings, use the Tabs button in its current location.
Another way from the tab overview
Tap the Tabs button to display your open tabs. Then touch and hold Done and choose the option to close all tabs. The exact interface can vary with the iOS version installed on the phone.
Can you reopen a tab afterward?
Safari keeps a list of recently closed tabs. From the tab overview, press and hold the + button to see recently closed pages when that option is available. Private tabs are handled differently and are not meant to leave the same browsing history.
If your goal is simply to prevent hundreds of old tabs from accumulating, Safari also has an option in Settings to close tabs automatically after a chosen period.
