Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas should be installed on a Windows PC through a legitimate store or game library that currently licenses the version you own. Avoid “free download” sites offering cracked executables, repacks, ROM-like archives, or activation bypasses.
Install a legitimate PC version
- Open the official game store or launcher associated with your purchase.
- Sign in to the account that owns the game.
- Find Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas or the currently licensed collection that includes it.
- Select Install.
- Choose an installation location if the launcher offers that option.
- Let the launcher download and verify the game files.
Which San Andreas version?
The original PC release and newer remastered/collection releases have had different storefront availability and system requirements over time. Check Rockstar Games and the legitimate store carrying your license for the version currently offered and its supported operating systems.
Older Windows 10 systems
Windows 10 reached the end of standard support on October 14, 2025. A game may continue to run on it, but that does not make the operating system normally supported. If the PC supports Windows 11 and your game version is compatible, upgrading is preferable for ongoing security support.
For an old retail copy, use the publisher’s legitimate support information for installation or compatibility problems rather than downloading modified executables intended to bypass disc checks or licensing.
