AssistiveTouch adds an on-screen accessibility button that can provide shortcuts to gestures, hardware-button functions, and other controls. If you no longer need it, you can turn it off in Accessibility settings.
Turn off AssistiveTouch
- Open Settings.
- Tap Accessibility.
- Select Touch.
- Tap AssistiveTouch.
- Turn AssistiveTouch off.
The floating AssistiveTouch button should disappear immediately.
If AssistiveTouch keeps coming back
Check whether AssistiveTouch has been assigned to the Accessibility Shortcut. If it has, a triple-click of the Side button or Home button, depending on the iPhone model, can toggle the feature.
You can customize it instead of disabling it
If you use AssistiveTouch for one particular function but dislike the default menu, review its customization options. You can change menu items and actions rather than removing the feature completely.
The iOS 17 title is historical
AssistiveTouch remains available in newer iOS versions. The basic Accessibility path is similar, although Apple can adjust menu wording and layout between releases.
