To install or update a camera driver in Windows 10, right-click Start and select Device Manager. Open Cameras (or Imaging devices), right-click your camera, and select Update driver > Search automatically for drivers. Windows usually installs camera drivers by itself when you plug a camera in.

Update the driver in Device Manager
- Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
- Open Cameras. On some PCs, the camera is under Imaging devices or Sound, video and game controllers.
- Right-click your camera and select Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for drivers and follow the steps.

Other ways to get the driver
- Windows Update: Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View optional updates, and install any camera driver listed there.
- The PC or camera maker’s website: Download the driver for your exact model and run it.
- Camera isn’t listed: In Device Manager, select Action > Scan for hardware changes.

If the camera stopped working after an update
- In Device Manager, right-click the camera and select Properties.
- On the Driver tab, select Roll Back Driver if it’s available, and follow the steps.
