How to Clear Spotify Cache on an iPhone

Spotify for iPhone includes a storage control that can clear cached files without requiring you to delete the entire app. Because Spotify changes its interface over time, the exact menu wording can vary by app version.

Clear Spotify’s cache

  1. Open the Spotify app.
  2. Open Spotify’s settings.
  3. Find the Storage section.
  4. Select Clear cache.
  5. Confirm the action if Spotify asks.

The cache contains temporary data Spotify can recreate. Clearing it can free local storage, although the cache may grow again as you continue using the app.

Cache and downloads are different

Do not confuse clearing cached data with removing downloaded music, podcasts, or audiobooks. Review Spotify’s storage screen carefully if you want to preserve content downloaded for offline use.

If Spotify is still using too much storage

Remove offline downloads you no longer need and check Settings > General > iPhone Storage to see Spotify’s overall storage usage. Reinstalling the app is a larger troubleshooting step and can require you to download offline content again.

If the app is malfunctioning

Close and reopen Spotify, update it through the App Store, and restart the iPhone before reinstalling. Cache clearing is useful for storage management but is not a guaranteed fix for every playback or account problem.
